Vacancy for Digital Preservation Manager at the University of Sheffield
18 February 2022
Sheffield
Are you highly motivated and collaborative? Do you have expertise in digital preservation? If so, we would be delighted to hear from you.
The University of Sheffield’s mission is to deliver life-enhancing research, innovation and education, generating much information. The University Library and University Archives hold extensive cultural, research and administrative collections that are available for the University and the wider community. The University Library’s mission is to enable the University to access and use the information universe, which requires the preservation of these unique assets for the future.
We are seeking an individual with a high level of proven experience operating within the digital preservation community. Your knowledge, experience, and leadership in digital preservation will enable you to work with others across the University to develop an Institutional Digital Preservation Strategy and deliver this through a programme of work facilitating the long-term discovery of, and access to, key assets which may be born-digital or require digitisation. There will be a particular focus initially around research outputs, the University Archives, and the Library’s Special Collections and Archives.
We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to the greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching, and student experience.
