Job Title: Construction Planner
Location: Middlesbrough
Contract: 12 months
Rate: Up to £700.00 per day
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Construction Planner to join a dynamic team based in Middlesbrough. This 12-month contract offers a competitive daily rate of up to £700.00. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Civil Engineering planning and will be responsible for creating and maintaining project schedules to ensure timely, on-budget, and quality-compliant project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Create and Maintain Schedules: Develop and track schedules for contracts, procurement, baselines, and project tracking, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently.
* Track Progress: Continuously monitor project progress, identifying potential delays and issues, and proactively proposing corrective measures.
* Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure that projects stay within scope and address any concerns promptly.
* Solution-Oriented Approach: Identify scheduling challenges, risks, and conflicts, offering creative solutions to keep projects on track.
* Mentorship: Lead internal training programs to develop and mentor team members on best practices in schedule management.
* Coordinate Project Plans: Oversee all project planning aspects, including timelines, resources, and workflow coordination.
* Collaboration with Project Teams: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
Financial Accountability:
* Ensure thorough understanding and adherence to the project’s contractual requirements.
* Proactively raise and address any changes or issues through the Commercial Manager and work with clients to resolve problems.
* Attend on-site change control and risk reduction meetings as needed.
Key Interfaces:
* Internal: Project Director, Operations Director, Commercial Manager, Planning Lead, Area Construction Managers, Project Controls Lead.
* External: TEn Construction Delivery Lead, TEn Planning Lead, Project Manager.
Key Accountabilities:
* Support the Planning Lead and Construction Director in planning and monitoring project progress.
* Safety: Demonstrate and champion a strong commitment to safety practices across all project phases.
* Quality: Maintain high standards in personal work, contribute to continuous improvement, and implement lessons learned. Ability to produce and authorise method statements and risk assessments.
* Manage and mitigate project risks related to schedule adherence.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience in Civil Engineering Planning and Construction Project Scheduling.
* Expertise in project progress tracking, scheduling software, and project coordination.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
* Strong problem-solving ability, especially related to project scheduling challenges and risks.
* Experience in mentoring or training team members.
* Understanding of contractual obligations, change management, and risk reduction strategies.
