Pay Range/details: £50,000 - £56,000
Contract Type: Permanent
Omega is seeking a highly motivated Senior Production Engineer, to join our client located in the Northampton area, who are a leader in the engineering, motorsport and automotive sector. This is an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects, including CNC programming and new part introduction, within a dynamic and supportive team.
Key Responsibilities - Senior Production Engineer
* Craft CNC programs for advanced 4 & 5 axis machines and multi-axis turn-mills using Siemens NX & Vericut software.
* Develop precision CNC grinding programs for a variety of specialized grinding machines.
* Lead new part introduction (NPI) for both prototype and production projects, expertly managing short lead times.
* Define and create efficient manufacturing routings and Bill of Materials (BOM) using SAP ERP.
* Design innovative fixtures and tooling to support NPI projects and streamline production.
* Drive improvements in tool life and cycle times by implementing cutting-edge technologies.
* Mentor team members by supporting departmental training and career development programs.
* Accurately estimate production times and related costs, ensuring efficient project delivery.
* Continuously identify and implement cost-saving opportunities within manufacturing processes.
* Champion health, safety, environmental, and energy standards in all activities.
Qualifications & Requirements - Senior Production Engineer
* Demonstrated expertise in machining and programming complex components, with experience in the automotive or aerospace industry preferred.
* Advanced proficiency in Siemens NX CAD/CAM systems and Vericut simulation software.
* Deep understanding of machining techniques, cutting strategies, and inspection processes.
* Strong organizational skills and excellent communication abilities.
* Flexibility to contribute to various tasks and support the team as needed.
