Fantastic Salary for reputable support workers: £14 per hour Excellent opportunity - Full or part Time support worker 36 hrs per week required Eastham (Near Birkenhead) Waking Night Support Staff (The shifts will be from 20:00-08:00hrs) A new position is now available to join Aspiring Lives Ltd to support a client who lives on his own flat in Eastham. The client is a mature gentleman and has Parkinsons disease, Dementia, he does have Catheter. The gentleman enjoys activities including playing cards, lego, craft making. He loves music and watching TV and he is a very social gentleman. The support worker will follow plans of care and risk assessments to ensure that the care is safe, effective, caring and responsive to the individual's needs. There will be opportunities to influence and improve the individuals life through care planning and activity planning whilst working with the Registered Manager and the family. The support worker is expected to be flexible and responsive to the needs and demands of the service. Aspiring Lives support individuals to access a range of services whilst protecting and maintaining their dignity and health and welfare. There will be opportunity for career development and QCF training opportunities. Key responsibilities: Engaging the clients with appropriate person centred activities Ensuring the safety and welfare of the individuals with Parkinsons Disease and Learning Disabilities Being a supportive worker to a family in need Building positive relationship with the individuals and their families Supporting Care planning and risk management strategies Providing safe, effective, caring, responsive support to a gentlemen with additional needs Required Education, Skills and Qualifications QCF Level 2 Health and Social Care (Preferred) or at least a care certificate At least 1 year experience of working with people with learning disabilities Effective Team working skills Good Communication Skills Parkinsons and Learning Disability Experience of working in a stressful care and support environment would be beneficial Flexible working will be required and the successful applicant would be expected to work evenings and weekends Experience and/or training in the management of Epilepsy and siezures Job Type/Category The successful applicant will be supported with good team work a fair approach to rostering will be implemented. The successful applicant will not be expected to work excessive hours and any additional hours will need to be requested. Sickness and absence will be managed with HR and there will not be any additional funding or payment for sick leave other than statutory sick pay.
