Specialist Learning Mentor
Location: Aston, Birmingham B6
Pay Scale: £100 - £110 per day

Long Term Futures is looking for a dedicated and proactive Learning Mentor to support mixed-age pupils within a welcoming mainstream primary school in Aston. This role involves working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support teaching and learning, provide interventions, and help manage behaviour. This is a full-time position, running Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm during term time. Initially a long-term role, there is potential for this to become permanent for the right candidate.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Provide tailored support for pupils with SEN and behavioural needs, ensuring they can fully engage in learning
Deliver small-group interventions to boost academic progress and emotional well-being
Offer one-to-one mentoring for children with Autism, ADHD, and other additional needs
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress and adapt support strategies
Assist both lower and higher-achieving pupils, ensuring all children reach their potential
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting independence and confidenceThe Ideal Candidate Will:
A relevant qualification (Teaching Assistant, Learning Mentor, or related field)
Experience working with SEN pupils in a primary school setting
A strong understanding of SEN and behavioural needs; DSL experience is desirable
A flexible and adaptable approach, tailored to individual pupil needs
Excellent relationship-building skills, fostering collaboration with pupils, staff, and parentsHow to Apply:
