We are currently seeking an Engineering Team Leader, Engineering Analysis to join our Innovation and Sustainability (I&S) Product Development team. In this role, you will lead the team responsible for:
* Analytical calculations and computer simulations of mechanical structural/thermal, fluid (air, water, non-Newtonian fluid) domain, and plastic melt process
* Metallurgy laboratory activities including sample preparation, hardness test, microscopy, chemistry analysis, part failure, and root cause analysis
* Collaboration with other engineering disciplines including Machine and Tooling design teams, Test and Validation teams, and the Engineering Service team
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Leadership of the Engineering Analysis team through process and methodology, resource planning, and team development, including:
o Project intake, prioritization, assignment, and scheduling
o Optimization of the scope of work to support engineering decisions and meet project timelines
o Consistent process and methodology in modeling, computer simulations, and metallurgical assessments
o Ensure quality work and documentation
o Lead weekly team and regular 1-on-1 communications with team members for work and general discussions
o Balance team and individual member development in the key technical specializations
Engineering simulations:
* Creation and maintenance of company standards and guidelines related to simulations
* Devise and improve simulation process and methodology that are in line with the latest computer and software technology to address the need of our design activities
* Identify, review, and approve submission of physical test plans to validate simulation results and methodology
* Review, plan, and budget the mix of simulation software to optimize the team’s capacity and capability
Metallurgical lab:
* Selection and executional support of metallurgical projects that support development needs
* Plan and budget the metallurgical lab yearly expense and capital plan
* Ensure the lab is in full compliance with Environment, Health, and Safety regulations and requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or other equivalent Engineering Degree (Graduate Degree preferred)
* Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience in structural mechanics and/or finite element analysis (FEA) is required; strong knowledge in computational fluid mechanics, metallurgical failure analysis is an asset
* Machinery design experience is required, knowledge of injection molding is an asset
* Demonstrated analytical and reasoning skills, decision-making, and judgment
* Strong leadership skills with the proven ability to motivate and develop a team
* Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation)
* Demonstrates a high degree of flexibility and embraces changing priorities
