Summary
We have an exciting new opportunity for a Logistics Manager to join our team based in Silvertown / Canning Town area in London. In this role you will maximise efficiency and profitability of the project through the deployment of effective logistics strategies, site organisation procedures, skilled logistical resources, associated training and communication.
This is a fixed term staff position with Freedom (2 years)
Project details: Construction of a large substation in Silvertown London that involves 4.5km cable installation from site to West Ham
Project duration: 2 years
Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:
* Demonstrate health and safety leadership, support the project delivery teams in minimising health, safety and environmental risk.
* Ensure that the logistics team support the production of RAMS for lifting and material distribution activities.
* Support the performance to plan and implement change within the Project, to deliver its purpose and vision. Be an ambassador for the function, driving efficiency and margin improvement on all areas of influence.
* Support the project delivery teams in maximisation of site productivity and efficiency. Specifically storage locations, welfare locations, material distribution strategies, organisation of stores, delivery optimisation and plant strategies.
* Support the work winning teams in the identification of win factors on logistical requirements on key engineering bids. Lead the production of logistics proposals on key bids.
* Manage the logistics function to ensure the site organisation guidelines are adhered to, and the required logistics plans are correctly implemented.
* Communicate with the logistics team to ensure they are motivated, empowered and equipped to deliver their roles.
* Engage with key operational stakeholders to ensure a thorough and consistent understanding of logistics, site organisation strategy and key processes.
* Work with procurement to ensure robust and scalable service level agreements are in place for key suppliers.
* Lead and influence logistics, and project teams in preparation and utilisation of bespoke SLAs.
* Maximise deliveries, provision of storage solutions, kit packaging etc.
* Work with QC teams and procurement teams to ensure clear processes and procedures are in place for non-conforming goods and non-adherence to agreed SLAs.

To be successful in this role you will have demonstrable experience of lean management techniques, and experience of working in a similar level role within construction or similar industry.
