Here at Stonewater, we are seeking a Capital Accountant - someone to assist in the provision of timely and accurate financial and management reporting information, for all entities in the Group. You’ll ensure timely and accurate processing of all fixed asset journals and reconciliations between the Fixed Asset Register, the Finance System and the Housing Management System including adding new properties on handover, component replacements, disposals and depreciation/amortisation of assets on the register. Producing timely and comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations and reconciliation of various systems interfacing with the finance system, you’ll prepare quarterly forecast and annual budget for all Disposals, Depreciation and Amortisation and upload capital additions, new homes and components, into the capital accounting system RAM (Real Asset Management) on a monthly basis. You’ll prepare reconciliations of relevant systems interfacing and interacting with the finance system in relation to unit numbers such as fixed assets (currently RAM) and Homes system (ActiveH) alongside statistical data return submission and prepare and post relevant financial journals to ensure all transactions are correctly posted and the accounts are financially accurate (especially relating to capital vs. revenue items). Collating accurate audit sample information as requested during the year end or other audit processes, you’ll liaise with auditors regarding any queries and prepare and maintain relevant system logs and control sheets to ensure smooth running of month end and reporting processes. The ideal candidate will: Hold a professional accountancy qualification (full or part-qualified) with relevant experience in management and financial reporting in a capital accounting function. Have prior use of RAM (desirable) Have strong analytical, communication and presentation skills to influence the decision-making process at operational level. Have good management and financial accounting and reporting skills, including up to date knowledge of FRS102. Have excellent reconciliation skills. Be self-motivated, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines. Be a team player, flexible and adaptable to changing business needs.
