Job Description
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is establishing the new Building Safety Division (BSD) with the goal of creating high standards of safety for high-rise buildings and ensuring residents can feel safe within their homes. BSD will work with residents and industry stakeholders to give everyone a voice and will oversee changes to the safety and performance of all high-rise buildings, raising industry professional standards year on year.
Your role will involve conducting audits of Local Authorities and Private Sector Building Control Services across England. You will deliver risk-based audits of Registered Building Authorities (RBAs) to ensure competence within the designated portfolio. You will monitor and manage the performance of current cases, escalate risks and issues to the Audit Manager, and support the enforcement process and procedures. You will ensure the consistent application of the Enforcement Guidance tool in various settings to make appropriate risk-based decisions. In some cases, you may encounter issues requiring enforcement actions.
