About Autism Plus Autism Plus are a leading Yorkshire Charity supporting adults and young people with autism, learning disabilities, mental health conditions and complex needs. In 1986 the Charity was created by a group of parents looking for the very best support for their children who were about to leave a specialist school. Once they reached the age of 17, they found there was little or no support. The belief set by our founding parents, to empower more people to live independent, fulfilling lives remains our focus today. About the Role: We are currently looking for an Intervenor to fulfill a permanent position as a Complex Care Support Worker within our York service. Hours: 30 hours a week on a rota basis, including weekends/Bank Holidays and sleep shifts. Location: York Desirable but not essential: Full, clean Driving License You will support and empower people to identify their goals, pursue their interests and hobbies, support their health and wellbeing, and be a part of their local community. You will need to provide innovative and Person Centred solutions for people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Mental Health conditions and other disabilities irrespective of where and how they live, to improve their quality of life and to extend and exercise their rights to access more control over their lives. Our Intervenors/Complex Care Support Workers assist individuals who have complex needs and/or mental health issues, in accordance with Care Plans and will offer positive behaviour support to individuals, who express their frustrations and needs through challenging behaviour, by using appropriate strategies.
