We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who has a willingness to adapt and to learn.
Reporting to the Work Load Co-ordinator, you will oversee the repair/planned and unplanned maintenance of all building structures, fabric and finishes, and the implementation of minor building works associated with premises administered by the Estates & Facilities Division.
You will carry out your duties to a high standard in an efficient and timely manner and will be required to carry out, where you are deemed competent, duties in other trades appertaining to Estates & Facilities and the operational function of the Division, in the pursuit of a fully flexible workforce. There will also be a need to provide sickness and annual leave cover for the section. You will integrate with all sections of the Estates and Facilities Division and liaise with all trust staff.
To succeed in the role you will have completed a time served apprenticeship or similar structured training program with post qualification experience in a Joinery discipline and possess a Joinery background with a good knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and guidance.
Main duties of the job
The Estates Maintenance Department provides a varied range of building and engineering services to Mid Cheshire Hospitals Foundation Trust in order to maintain the buildings and associated services in line with current legislation and standards. The department is committed to the ongoing training of their staff to a high standard in order to comply with legislation and to ensure that the patient environment is maintained so as to be safe but in a cost effective and efficient manner.
