1-1 SEND Support Job Description
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a 1-1 SEND Support in our Doncaster SEND provision. As a 1-1 SEND Support, you will play a crucial role in providing individualised support to students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Responsibilities:
1. Work closely with students on a one-to-one basis, providing personalized support based on their specific needs and abilities.
2. Assist students in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities.
3. Implement strategies and accommodations outlined in students' Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to ensure their academic and social progress.
4. Provide emotional support and encouragement to students, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
5. Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to develop and implement appropriate interventions and strategies.
6. Monitor and track students' progress, documenting observations and providing feedback to the SEND Coordinator.
7. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, keeping them informed about their child's progress and addressing any concerns or questions.
Qualifications:
8. Previous experience working with students with SEND is highly desirable.
9. Knowledge and understanding of various special educational needs and disabilities.
10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and establish positive relationships.
11. Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt and respond to the individual needs of students.
12. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow instructions from the SEND Coordinator.
13. Flexibility and willingness to learn and implement new strategies and approaches.
