The School seeks a teaching professional with both integrity and compassion to steer our busy and thriving Senior School Languages Department. We invite applications from well-qualified and ambitious teachers as well as experienced Heads of Department.
The successful candidate will be a specialist in either French, German or Spanish and ideally a combination of these languages. Candidates should also have considerable personal enthusiasm for the subject and a proven record of teaching the subject throughout the age range.
The Head of Languages will lead a team of nine members of teaching staff, one visiting Mandarin tutor and four Language Assistants.
This is a full-time, permanent role, commencing September 2025.
Safeguarding Responsibilities
Staff are advised to maintain an attitude of “it could be happening here and probably is” as far as safeguarding is concerned and should always act in the best interest of the child. All staff are expected to actively promote and safeguard the welfare of all pupils. As this post involves significant contact with children and the postholder will be responsible for children, they will be considered to be in regulated activity and must report any concerns in a timely manner. All staff must also attend annual safeguarding training and have proper regard for the School’s safeguarding policy and procedures.
