Self-employed Personal Assistant required in the Lancaster area
Seeking self-employed worker to provide support to a Dyslexic male adult who suffers from social anxiety disorder, and depression. The client requires support with maintaining his own independence in his own home and within the wider community.
This position will involve:
• Supporting the client to carry out online grocery shop and occasional shopping
locally.
• Accompanying the client to and from appointments/leisure activities.
• Support the client with prompts to maintain household domestic tasks such as
laundry, bed changes, and general cleaning.
• Occasional support with making telephone calls for appointments.
• Supporting the client to maintaining and organise household paperwork.
• Support the client to read and understand letters, including emails.
• Support the client to maintain his own independence and wellbeing.
• The client enjoys walking but is very anxious to access the community alone,
so will require someone who can provide some support and encouragement.
Experience working in a similar role desirable but not essential. An awareness and understanding of Social anxiety disorder is essential. Would suit someone with a calm and patient personality with a passion for supporting others.
You must have excellent communication, and engagement skills. A recent clear enhanced DBS is required for this role.
