Key Responsibilities:
* Independently oversee quantity surveying tasks and manage a small team of commercial staff.
* Prepare and negotiate variation accounts for main contracts and sub-contracts.
* Track costs against targets and monitor contract progress against agreed schedules.
* Prepare and finalise interim valuations, final valuations, and sub-contract final accounts.
* Certify and process sub-contractor payments.
* Provide contractual guidance to management, ensuring compliance with legal and contractual obligations.
* Identify and mitigate commercial risks while negotiating and resolving disputes.
Job Requirements:
* Degree in Quantity Surveying or an equivalent qualification.
* Experience with NEC3/NEC4 contracts.
* Background in large-scale structures, civil engineering, or highway projects (£60M+).
* Membership (or working toward membership) of a relevant professional body (CICES, RICS, or similar).
* Proven success as a Quantity Surveyor with a strong track record of commercial achievement.
* Ability to mentor junior team members while continuously learning and applying new concepts.
* Proficiency in quantity surveying practices and variation account management.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
