At J&J Innovative Medicine, we are seeking a Senior Scientist, Biostatistics to join the Oncology Statistics team in Late Clinical Development. The position is in High Wycombe or Leeds, UK.
We are seeking an exceptional Senior Scientist, Biostatistics to join the Oncology Statistics team. Oncology Statistics is an essential part of the Statistics and Decision Sciences organisation within J&J Innovative Medicine and is focused on driving all quantitative aspects of the design, analysis and reporting of oncology clinical trials. The oncology area focuses on hematologic malignancies, prostate cancer and lung cancer; cancer interception with the goal of developing products that interrupt the carcinogenic process; biomarkers that may help guide targeted, individualized use of our therapies; as well as safe and effective identification and treatment of early changes in the tumor microenvironment.
Key Job Responsibilities
* Providing statistical input for decision-making, including analysis, interpretation, study design and communication of data evidence for research, development and/or marketed product.
* Supporting statistical aspects of business-critical and/or regulatory commitments.
* Advocating for the use of appropriate statistical methods in decision making by acquiring and demonstrating an in-depth knowledge of statistics, modelling, simulations, and statistical computing.
* Participation in or attending training session with colleagues and external contractors.
* Participating in the scientific community by attending conferences.
* Working with external partners including key opinion leaders in the oncology area and regulatory agencies and advisory committees, and contract research organizations.
* Participating in training, process improvement and enhancing technical expertise.
Qualifications
* Ph.D. in Statistics or related field with minimum 0-2 years relevant experience, or a Master’s in Statistics or related field with commensurate years of relevant experience.
* Analytical mind-set, intellectual curiosity, eagerness for continuous learning and passion for translating data into business-critical evidence.
* Ability to work independently, as well as in interdisciplinary teams.
* Good verbal, and written communication skills in the English language.
* Good knowledge of SAS and R programming.
* Desire to build relationships with various stakeholders, promote positive change, and ability to adapt to rapidly changing organizational & business environment needs.
