Role Scope: Our client is one of only a few Practices in the region that offer clients and contractors bills of quantities prepared by experienced, dedicated measurement quantity surveyors. They are seeking to shape and grow their team while continuing to meet their diverse workload. Due to the nature of the work, the role will qualify for their hybrid working policy and the successful candidate will be able to work from both the office and home. They specialise in covering all types of buildings from relatively small refurbishments to multi-million-pound flagship developments. They adopt a range of standards commensurate with the purpose of the measurement – cost planning quantities, builder’s quantities, Standard Method of Measurement (SMM7) and New Rules of Measurement (NRM2). CostX is the main measurement software package and experience of using it is preferential but not essential. It follows the same basic principles of all electronic measurement packages and training will be given if required. Qualifications and Skills: Formal qualifications are not required. Vitally important is a good work ethic and the experience and knowledge to maintain their current high standards of service in this field of expertise. The successful individual will be used to working collaboratively within a team, as well as operating under his or her own initiative. He or she must have experience of measuring from a variety of levels of design detail and be able to plan and manage the measurement exercise. Knowledge and experience of working with Building Information Models (BIM) will be preferable however not essential.
