Prysmian are currently seeking a Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) Manager, to support a large scale project taking place in Dunbar, Scotland and Seaham, County Durham. The role will be based full-time on site and will focus on giving Health and Safety advice for the onshore installation activities performed by Prysmian and its supporting contractors. The ideal candidate will be expected to demonstrate proactiveness through regular participation in site safety tours, audits, and attendance at the site health and safety meetings, ensuring Prysmian fulfil the role of Principal Contractor under the UK CDM Regulations. Project Scope includes; Site Establishment Site demarcation fencing Access roads/entrances onto construction easement Trial Holes (Joint bay positions) Topsoil strip Construct Haul Roads Construct Road / Ditch Crossings Proving pits and access to HDD entry/exit excavations Duct proving & cleaning and any associated remedials Joint bay excavation Ducts recleaned immediately prior to cable installation Cable installation (Power & Fibre) Cable jointing, splicing and associated progressive testing Reinstatement and demarcation fencing removed Demobilisation Candidate requirements Nationally recognized certificate or equivalent in Health and Safety (NEBOSH, NVQ,NCRQ) Hold a valid CSCS or CCNSG Card Previous experience in a Health and Safety Advisor or Manager role. Hold an auditor qualification to ISO45001 Standard Trained in accident incident investigation techniques including root cause analysis Have active Continual Professional Development as a Health and Safety professional Hold IOSH Membership. Previously held advisory positions on renewable energy, HVDC, transmission or other large-scale infrastructure or utility projects. Worked previously for a Principal Contractor under UK CDM Regulations. Fully conversant in UK Health and Safety Legislation. Proficient in ALARP Risk Management Principles Comfortable writing project plans and procedures to manage health and safety. Must be customer facing, feel comfortable managing tier contractors and previous managing a small team.
