Clinical Practice Educator / Facilitator (Band 7/6)

An opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Practice Educator/Facilitator within the Medical division. We are looking for an enthusiastic, independent and committed registered nurse with NMC registration and a desire to improve practice and knowledge. The post holder will be responsible for continuing educational professional development within General Specialist Medicine and any other Trust site as required.
Main Responsibilities
1. Support the clinical development of registered nurses and HCSW alongside the Ward Managers to complete competencies.
2. Support nursing induction alongside the Corporate team and facilitate its delivery and evaluation.
3. Work closely with Ward Managers to support and develop staff within the Division.
4. Function as a practicing professional working directly alongside the registered nurses and HCSW in clinical practice.
5. Undertake competency assessment of Nursing staff in practice as required.

Qualifications
* NMC registration
* Specialist professional knowledge
* PGCert in Education
Experience
* Experience at Band 6 with keen interest in Education
* Evidence of teaching/facilitating group and individual learner
* Able to work independently, manage own workload
* Evidence of leading on change management/Harms Free care
* Experience within a clinical teaching role
* Underpinned by theory acquired through CPD
Knowledge
* Up to date knowledge of current clinical and professional issues
* Understanding of healthcare provision, together with awareness and appreciation of current NHS policy and priorities
Skills
* Effective communication to ensure high standards of care, treatment, service or support
* Able to teach/facilitate learning in both classroom and clinical environments
* Able to assess competence and level of understanding
* Able to give effective feedback
* Knowledge & awareness of diversity and human rights as appropriate to your role
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
