Yolk Recruitment are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading company in the construction industry, looking for a Transport Planner to join their team in South Wales. This is a full-time, office-based role, ideal for an individual who thrives in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Serve as the first point of contact for all distribution-related queries, ensuring smooth and timely delivery of products from quarries and plants across the region.
2. Manage inbound customer calls and emails, process orders, and provide updates on distribution status.
3. Collaborate with Logistics, Commercial, and Production teams to enhance service efficiency.
4. Track orders proactively to ensure successful delivery and resolution of any issues.
5. Handle inquiries and manage complaints with professionalism and empathy.
6. Maintain and update customer information databases.
7. Contribute to team goals by achieving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Skills
8. Understanding of the construction and transport industries (preferred but not essential).
9. Proven experience in transport planning, with a strong grasp of road haulage requirements.
10. Ability to manage multiple deadlines, anticipate challenges, and propose effective solutions.
11. Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a commitment to high-quality service.
12. Strong attention to detail and proficient computer skills.
