Support Worker
Who are we: Since 1988, Everton in the Community has become a dynamic force for good, harnessing the unifying power of football to drive social change and addressing societal challenges across Liverpool City Region. Supported by a team of over 130 full-time staff and over 200 volunteers, the independently governed and independently financed charity offers an extensive array of more than 60 programmes and initiatives that tackle a diverse range of social issues. These programmes cover areas such as health, employability, anti-social behaviour, crime, exploitation, education, dementia, and disability.

About the opportunity: Everton in the Community is seeking to appoint a Support Worker to join our Children and Youth Services team who aim to support children and young people aged 2 to 25 who are at high risk and facing vulnerability.
Programs offer intensive help and positive interventions for individuals dealing with serious issues such as homelessness, criminal involvement, educational struggles, mental and physical health challenges, and family difficulties.
Our goal is to break the cycle of limited aspirations and unfulfilled potential by guiding, inspiring, motivating, and empowering children and young people to achieve their potential.
As a Support Worker you will inspire and empower young people and young adults to pursue positive change, live healthier lives and transition and contribute towards creating ‘stronger communities and brighter futures’.
You will be responsible for implementing, delivering and overseeing our Targeted Support programmes, working closely with the Senior Targeted Support Co-ordinator to ensure programmes align with the goals and objectives of EITC’s five-year strategy - Trinity Project.
Other key responsibilities will include:
1. Developing, organising, and delivering projects, ensuring they meet the goals and objectives in line with funding obligations and the needs of our participants.
2. Creating inclusive resources, monitoring materials and equipment, ensuring they are appropriate and used effectively.
3. Tracking project progress, collecting data, maintaining accurate records, assessing effectiveness, and reporting outcomes in line with organisational requirements.
4. Compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, training and regulations.
5. Developing and maintaining positive relationships through effective and timely communication methods.
6. Delivery of events and campaigns in line with programme area and wider EITC strategy.
7. Delivery of both 1-1 personalised mentoring support, and small targeted group work, raising awareness of various topics.
Safeguarding
1. To understand the Club’s Safeguarding policy, procedures, and best practice guidelines.
2. To use this understanding to ensure safe working practices, appropriate reporting of concerns and contribute positively to an Anti-bullying environment.
3. Ensure Safeguarding and Healthy and Safety Processes are implemented in line with Everton in the Community guidelines.
Who we are looking for: We are looking for an individual who has experience of working with young people who display challenging behaviour and/or complex needs (neurodiverse/SEN).
Our successful candidate will also demonstrate the following skills, knowledge and experience:
1. VRQ/NVQ Level 2 in Youth Work or other relevant qualification/experience in youth or community work.
2. Relevant Mentoring qualifications.
3. Tutor Qualifications – any subject (desirable).
4. Experience of 1-to-1 support work with young people; to include assessment, intervention planning and delivery of action plans.
5. Experience of delivering workshops and targeted interventions.
6. A track record planning, organising, and overseeing youth/community led initiatives.
7. Experience of managing a caseload of young people aged 8-19 years.
8. Ability to stay calm and make decisions in pressurised situations.
9. To have an approachable, caring, friendly and helpful nature with a good personality.
10. A good understanding of confidentiality and maintaining boundaries when working with young people.
11. Capable of dealing with changing priorities and situations.

This position will be offered on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract, 35 hours per week with the role being based across EitC Campus, Indoor/Outdoor Venues, Schools, Home Visits.
