About the role
Ecclesiastical Insurance, who are proudly part of Benefact Group, are looking for a Claims Manager - Property to join our Gloucester office.
As Claims Manager, you will lead and have day-to-day responsibility for the customer experience, technical expertise, relationship management, and operational excellence across a customer group.

Key responsibilities
* Leadership: Delivering inspiring leadership, directly leading a team of Claims Specialists, taking responsibility for, and managing their motivation, personal and professional development, and performance.
* Customer Experience Strategy: Responsibility for ensuring the customer and broker experience is exceptional and market-leading.
* Identify and pursue opportunities: Develop strong and rewarding Customer, Broker, and Supplier relationships. Provide support and challenge with ideas to aid the development and growth of the business.
* Business Planning: Lead business claims planning working with peers in underwriting, risk management, and marketing to deliver a joined-up claims proposition.
* Research & Development: Actively participate and contribute to market forums, researching and delivering new procedures and techniques to enhance the claims proposition.
* MI Analysis and Reporting: Analyse and interpret claims intelligence to better understand and improve team performance, sharing outputs with the wider claims team, underwriting, and risk management.
* Claims Procedures: Oversee all operational claims processes and procedures, bespoke to a customer group to ensure they are robust and fit for purpose, continually seeking to improve effectiveness and efficiencies.
* Governance Framework: Understand, accept, and implement risk management processes in line with the claims governance framework Strategy. Report inefficient, unnecessary, or unworkable controls and report loss events or near misses to the Risk Manager, with recommendations to prevent reoccurrence.
* Technical Referral Point: Provide advice and direction across designated claims, obtaining or directing internal and external advice where necessary.
* Claims Handling: Manage an allocation of losses arising out of this specialist niche area, within personal authority and in accordance with the Ecclesiastical claims handling philosophy.
Knowledge, skills and experience
* Proven Claims experience.
* A high-profile individual with a passion for the customer and a proven track record of delivering unsurpassed levels of customer care, personally and through the team.
* Strong leadership skills, with demonstrable ability to lead and coach own direct reports and collaborate across claims and the wider business areas.
* Excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation skills.
