The COO role is a newly created position and will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Group and its subsidiaries. They will ensure that all departments function efficiently, delivering measurable results while aligning with the company’s strategic objectives. The COO will implement systems for performance tracking, drive operational excellence, and serve as a critical link between the CEO and Heads of Departments, freeing the CEO to focus on innovation and strategic growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
* Collaborate with the CEO to develop and execute the company’s strategic objectives,
* ensuring alignment across all departments.
* Translate high-level goals into actionable operational plans with clear KPIs and
* timelines.
* Drive initiatives that improve scalability, operational efficiency, and profitability across
* all business units.
Operational Management:
* Oversee the day-to-day operations of the business and its subsidiaries, ensuring that
* each department meets its performance goals.
* Optimise processes, workflows, and resource allocation to enhance efficiency and
* reduce costs.
Performance Tracking & Reporting:
* Develop and implement systems to monitor and report on departmental performance,
* ensuring transparency and accountability.
* Analyse operational data to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for
* improvement.
* Provide regular reports to the CEO on business performance, risks, and
* opportunities.
Leadership:
* Manage and mentor Heads of Departments, fostering a high-performance culture
* focused on results and accountability.
* Ensure departments are equipped with the tools, resources, and training needed to
* achieve their goals.
* Drive employee efficiency and implement strategies to maximise individual and team
* contributions.
Financial Oversight:
* Work with the Finance Department to monitor budgets, forecast financial
* performance, and ensure ROI on all activities.
* Oversee cost management initiatives to improve profitability without compromising
* quality or innovation.
* Support financial planning by providing operational insights and identifying areas for
* investment or cost-saving.
Systems & Processes:
* Implement and maintain systems that streamline reporting, project management, and
* departmental coordination.
* Lead efforts to digitise and modernise processes, ensuring the business remains
* agile and competitive.
* Standardise workflows across departments to ensure consistency and compliance.
Risk & Compliance:
* Identify potential risks across operations and implement mitigation strategies.
* Ensure all business activities comply with relevant legal, regulatory, and industry
* standards.
* Lead operational risk assessments, focusing on business continuity and crisis
* management.
Stakeholder Management:
* Act as a key liaison between the CEO and Heads of Departments.
* Collaborate with the CEO to represent the group in key partnerships, client
* relationships, and strategic alliances.
* Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, contractors, and other key partners to
* ensure smooth operations.
The successful Candidate will possess 8-10 years of experience in operational leadership roles, preferably within high growth, fast paced companies. They will possess a strong background in data analysis, reporting and performance optimisation, as well as proven success in implementing systems and processes to drive organisational efficiency. It is key that Candidates have demonstrable experience of partnering with visionary leaders, balancing innovation with operational discipline.
