Electrical Engineer
Woodlands Hospital – Kettering NN16
Full Time - 37.5 hrs per week to be worked flexibly
Monday to Friday between 08.00 -18.00 (Participation in the Hospital on-call rota and occasional out of hours work may be required)
The Woodlands Hospital in Kettering has four theatres operating 6 days a week, covering a diverse range of elective services including Orthopaedic, Spinal, Pain, General surgery, Weight loss Surgery, Cosmetic Surgery, Urology, Gynaecology, ENT and Ophthalmology. We have a 23 bedded inpatient ward and 19 Day case Rooms /Bays. We also have a pharmacy and physiotherapy unit and radiology services at the hospital.
Glendon Wood Hospital works closely with Woodlands Hospital with clinical staff moving across both sites as well as some non-clinical staff moving between the two sites in support of the clinical activities. Glendon Wood Hospital has 2 laminar flow theatres and a designated endoscopy suite as well as outpatients, physiotherapy and a full imaging suite including CT, MRI and mammography.
The Role
We are seeking a highly enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join the team at our Woodlands Hospital as we continue to expand with Glendon Wood Hospital, our brand-new day-case facility based in the Glendon area of Kettering.
What you’ll be doing:
Carrying out electrical work replacing and upgrading light fittings across site.
Upgrading worn out and damaged accessories.
Removal of unused electrical systems and circuits.
Installation of dado trunking and similar.
Replacing and making safe any damaged appliances or accessories.
Carry out Pre Planned Maintenance (PPM) across site and taking additional responsibilities for electrically based systems.
Ensure legal compliance of electrical systems and appliances including EICR’s, PAT testing and emergency lighting and associated action plans.
Provide competent Technical, Health, Safety and Environmental support & assistance
Support the Engineering team in carrying out their role
Review fault logs and allocate appropriate resources to each task within area of responsibility
On call cover on a rotational basis
What you’ll bring with you:
City & Guilds Part 3, HNC, NVQ Level 4 or equivalent preferably in Electrical Installations
Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Understanding of Legionella prevention requirements within hospital buildings is desirable, training will be provided
Demonstrated high level of organisation & time management skills, particularly in an environment with multiple, and sometimes conflicting priorities
Sound fault finding techniques
IOSH Health and Safety / Risk Assessment training is desirable, training will be provided
