Part-time 22 hours/week
£28,000 - £30,000 pro rata
£14.55- £15.59 per hour
We’re looking for a caring and compassionate person who is personable and can inspire others. You’ll be a motivational line manager and a fantastic ambassador for our hospice.
As a key part of the Individual Giving team, you will support the people who choose to leave Treetops Hospice a gift in their Will or make a donation in memory of a loved one. We’re looking for someone who loves people, with a sympathetic and caring personality, who can have a sensitive conversation and be a listening ear.
Our Legacy donors are incredibly important. Gifts in Wills currently help to fund 2 in 5 Hospice at Home visits. We want to ensure that those who have chosen to leave Treetops a legacy gift know how valued they are. You will lead the Legacy and In memory Relationships officer and together you will help to steward these supporters by arranging events and support sessions throughout the year. You’ll manage two Make a Will Month campaigns every year and you’ll be fundamental in helping us to grow this income by building relationships with local solicitors, funeral homes and other businesses and organisations. We need you to introduce Treetops to members of our community. You will talk at local community groups, attend networking opportunities and host tours of the hospice to inspire people to see how special Treetops is.
You’ll raise vital income to keep our hospice services going, build for the future and ensure that supporters have a wonderful experience.
This role might be for you if you are good at:
1. Providing excellent relationship management and the highest standard of customer/supporter care.
2. Thinking about the bigger picture and how you can develop long-lasting and meaningful relationships that deliver income.
3. Seeking out and developing potential partnerships that meet both an organisation’s needs, and those of the customer/supporter.
4. Maintaining focus, energy and income delivery, even with longer term relationships.
5. Thinking differently and creatively.
6. Being an inspiring and motivating team player.
7. Working with internal and external stakeholders to create messaging and materials that resonate with our supporters.
You’ll also:
1. Be eager to learn and develop.
2. Have pride in personal performance and deliver high standards of work.
You’ll need good people skills and IT skills, be organised, self-motivated and ambitious. Previous experience in a Legacy or In Memory fundraising role would be advantageous but certainly is not a requirement. We know that many people from differing work backgrounds will have the transferable skills required.
The role will be predominantly based at the hospice in Risley with the flexibility to work from home on occasion. We would require the 22 hours to be split across 3 days, one of them to be a Monday to attend our weekly team meeting. On occasions you will work early mornings, evenings and weekends - time will be given back for this.
Car owner/driver essential.
