Job Overview To support the delivery and operation of POCT services across the BSPS organisation with specific requirements to the LabKit/community team. Main duties of the job To maintain POC equipment as directed ensuring all protocols and quality standards are met Work in accordance with departmental policies and standard operating procedures, to maintain high standards of patient safety. Able to travel independently to any site where there is a LabKit p To ensure good stock control of consumables for all LabKit sites and a ensuring a centralised stock is present at other BSPS POC site Maintain good communication within the POC team in order to maximise efficiency through agreed priorities and to achieve the aims of Point of Care analysis on a daily basis In liaison with other senior staff to ensure the department’s quality standards are maintained and to troubleshoot any areas failing to meet these standards Participate in the audit of quality control measures within LabKit and Point of Care. Person specification Skills & Knowledge Essential criteria Demonstrate advanced communication skills to convey complex diagnostic and technical information, overcoming barriers to communication. Analysis of complex results and judgement of whether they require further action. Able to troubleshoot & and repair delicate, expensive and intricate equipment. Desirable criteria Ability to communicate complex, contentious and sensitive messages. Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships with the multi-disciplinary team members.
