Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Controller to lead our financial operations and ensure the integrity of our financial reporting. This is a pivotal role within our organization, requiring a proactive and strategic individual who can collaborate effectively with senior management to drive informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
• Financial Management:
• Oversee all day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
• Manage and maintain the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes.
• Perform regular and thorough reconciliations, including bank, supplier, and customer ledger reconciliations, utilizing Sage 50 accounting software.
• Coordinate the management of cash flow, implement strategies for effective recovery of aged receivable debts, and optimize working capital.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Conduct detailed variance analysis to identify trends and provide actionable insights to senior management.
• Develop and maintain financial forecasting and budgeting models.
Strategic Support:
• Provide strategic financial guidance and support to the directors, contributing to key decision-making processes.
• Advise co-workers and stakeholders on financial changes that may affect the busi-ness.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of financial strategies to support business growth.
• Systems and Process Improvement:
• Streamline and improve existing accounting systems and operational processes, in-cluding the implementation of new financial controls.
• Possess experience with system implementations or migrations is desirable.
Software Proficiency:
• Extensive experience with Sage 50 accounting software is essential.
• Advanced excel skills are also required.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years of proven accounting experience in a financial managerial role.
• Accounting qualification (AAT/ACCA/ACA) or qualified by demonstrable experience.
• Strong working knowledge of financial regulations and reporting standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Hours and Benefits:
• Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:00.
• 25 days of paid holiday.
