The opportunity
Our client is currently looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team in Glasgow. This temporary role is available until the end of June 2025, and it will involve significant responsibility in the preparation and filing of UK Statutory Financial Statements for a number of group companies. The role will also involve liaising with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Reporting to: UK Senior Statutory Financial Accountant
Your duties and responsibilities will be:
1. Extract and compile financial information from various sources to prepare comprehensive year-end UK-based financial statements.
2. Ensure all financial statements are accurate and in compliance with the relevant accounting standards.
3. Organise and manage the year-end audit process, ensuring the timely and accurate completion of all requests.
4. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather necessary information for financial reporting.
5. Prepare annual statutory journals and ensure their accuracy.
6. Maintain strong knowledge of UK GAAP, US GAAP, and IFRS to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
7. Utilise Oracle accounting software (preferred) and Microsoft Word and Excel to generate financial documentation.
8. Contribute to the smooth preparation and filing of statutory accounts for group companies.
You will have the following qualifications and experience:
1. Qualified or Part-qualified (ICAS/ACCA), with 2-3 years of experience in financial accounting.
2. Extensive experience preparing financial statements in line with UK GAAP, US GAAP, and IFRS.
3. Knowledge of Oracle accounting software is preferred.
4. Strong attention to detail with the ability to ensure accuracy in all work produced.
5. Experience managing the year-end audit process and collaborating with both internal and external teams.
6. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
