We are now have an exciting opportunity for a Hydrogeologist / Geo-environmental consultant to join the team in our Dublin head office. Working alongside an experienced team you will get involved with a vast array of projects predominately within the housing, commercial property, energy and manufacturing sector. The company has a wide portfolio of clients in a number of sectors including marine, industry, energy and property. In addition, the company are particularly proud of the work that they have undertaken in the property sector where over the last 3 years they have undertaken work at various sites Dublin Dockland sites, Irish Rail Sites and for ESB. Key Responsibilities: Project management of groundwater monitoring programmes. Drafting of technical reports for groundwater monitoring projects. Supervising & managing intrusive site investigations for environmental purposes. Groundwater and surface water sampling to relevant standards Undertaking Preliminary Risk Assessments / Preliminary Site Assessments (Phase 1 Desk Studies) Drafting of Generic Quantitative Risk Assessments. Supporting and co-ordinating a variety of projects Preparing health and safety documentation, booking subcontractors and scheduling soil and water samples for analytical testing. Maintain and develop technical capability through Continuing Professional Development (CPD). Person Specification: BSc degree level qualified in Geology or a related Environmental subject MSc in Geology, Hydrogeology or Contaminated Land related subject preferable but not essential Ideally a minimum of 2 years of previous experience. A good understanding of laboratory testing and interpreting results Previous experience undertaking groundwater monitoring programmes and a good understanding of sampling techniques. A good understanding of environmental guidance and legislation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Prepared to work as part of a team or as an individual Candidates must be willing to spend a significant amount of their working day out on site and away from home.
