Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS FT
The Clinical Support Coordinator will work within the Doncaster and Bassetlaw clinical site team and will provide clinical support and assistance to the Clinical Site Manager and Medical staff in the assessment and treatment of patients requiring emergency intervention/treatment.
The post holder's role will also be required to ensure that patients have a seamless journey and discharge and that the patient's pathway is effectively managed across site.
This post is nights only, across both Doncaster Royal Infirmary and Bassetlaw Hospital trust sites.
Main duties of the job
1. Provide basic nursing care to patients, demonstrating respect for privacy and dignity and patient choice.
2. Monitor and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respirations, oxygen saturation level and blood glucose level) of patients, demonstrating an understanding of the normal range and reporting any abnormal recordings to practitioner/medical staff.
3. Record early warning scores and report any abnormal readings to nursing staff.
4. Perform venepuncture as requested by the ACP/nursing/medical staff within Trust policy and once appropriate training has been given.
5. Record ECGs once appropriate training has been given and within Trust policy, reporting findings to nursing/medical team.
6. Carry out cannulation as requested by the ACP/nursing/medical team once appropriate training has been given.

Knowledge and Experience
* Experience working in a hospital environment
* Experience of working in an acute environment
Qualifications/Training
* NVQ level 2 in Health & Social Care or equivalent
* Clinical Skills: Venepuncture, ECG recording, Cannulation, Blood & specimen cultures
* Up to date knowledge of professional issues
* Vital Signs training
* GCSE Grade C & above in English & Maths or equivalent qualification or experience
* Care Certificate
Interpersonal Skills
* Be able to demonstrate good communication skills, work within the multidisciplinary team.
* Ability to influence senior staff. Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team.
* Ability to record and report relevant information regarding patient needs and assist in the formulation of their care planning.
