The Automotive Technician will work with a variety of tools and equipment, including power tools and hand tools, while adhering to safety protocols.
Responsibilities
* Diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle issues using schematics and technical manuals.
* Perform repairs and maintenance on vehicles, including engine repairs, brake replacements, and electrical system diagnostics.
* Assemble components as required during the repair process.
* Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
* Utilise power tools and hand tools effectively for various repair tasks.
* Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring all equipment is stored properly.
* Assist in heavy lifting of automotive parts or equipment as necessary.
* Weld components when required for specific repairs or modifications.
* Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as an Automotive Technician or in a similar role is preferred.
* Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand complex systems and schematics.
* Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
* Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the job demands.
* Strong customer service skills with a focus on client satisfaction.
* Relevant certifications or qualifications in automotive repair are an advantage but not mandatory.
* Clutches, timing belts/chains and gearbox experience.
* Good communication skills with team memebers and mangement.
