Position Overview: The Yardsman and Driver will be responsible for maintaining the yard, ensuring equipment and materials are organised, and delivering supplies to various construction sites. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on individual with a strong work ethic and a good driving record.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintain the organisation and cleanliness of the yard & store.
2. Manage materials and Plant deliveries.
3. Ensure all equipment and materials are stored and ready for use.
4. Load and unload materials from vehicles.
5. Transport construction materials, tools, and equipment between sites.
6. Assist with inventory management and stock control.
7. Perform routine checks and maintenance on vehicles.
8. Comply with all health and safety regulations on-site and during transportation.
9. Support site workers with manual tasks when required.
Requirements:
1. Valid driver's license with a clean record and previous experience driving commercial vehicles such as vans.
2. Previous experience in a similar role (yard work, construction, or logistics).
3. Good knowledge of handling construction materials and equipment.
4. Ability to operate forklifts and other machinery (Training can be provided).
5. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
6. Physically fit and able to perform manual labour.
7. Excellent time management and the ability to meet delivery deadlines.
Working Hours: Monday - Thursday 7.30am – 4.30pm and Friday 7.30am - 1pm. Overtime will be offered as and when needed. Available for immediate start.
