Undergraduate Student Support Co-Ordinator
Location: Aston, Birmingham (Fully office based)
Working Hours:
Monday: 8:45 AM - 5:15 PM
Tuesday to Friday: 8:45 AM - 5:00 PM
Hourly Rate: £13.53 per hour
Contract duration: Temporary position until October
Job Purpose:
To support the Undergraduate (UG) Student Support Lead in delivering an effective and efficient support service to Undergraduate and Exchange students within the College of Business and Social Sciences. This role also involves working with the Postgraduate (PG) Support Lead to ensure consistency of processes and services for UG and PG programmes and adequate resource coverage during peak periods.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
Line Management:
1. Manage college office staff based on reception.
2. Collaborate with the Student Experience Lead to provide a streamlined and flexible service to all key stakeholders.
3. Support team development of personal and professional skills to meet objectives aligned with the BSS College Strategy.
Resource Planning:
4. Work with Programme Managers and Student Support/Experience Leads to plan, monitor, and utilize the College Office Reception resources effectively.
Technical Support and Training:
5. Act as the Solve Champion for UG Student Support.
6. Train new starters on Solve, address technical issues, create/amend knowledge articles and standard solutions.
7. Collate team feedback and attend regular Solve champion meetings.
Staff Recruitment and Training:
8. Assist the UG Student Support Lead in recruiting, inducting, and training new staff members.
Welcome Week Administration:
9. Collaborate with Programme Managers and the Student Experience Lead to manage and deliver Welcome Week activities.
Process Review and Project Management:
10. Support the UG Student Support Lead with student support specific process review and project management.
11. Re-enrolment Management:
12. Oversee BSS UG re-enrolment processes.
Representation:
13. Deputise for the Student Support Lead at University working groups.
Data Management:
14. Produce and disseminate timely data to assist the Student Support Lead with their activities, such as tracking returning LOA students, repeaters, and non-re-enrollers.
Tutor Allocation:
15. Allocate and maintain BSS UG personal tutors.
Exchange Student Support:
16. Administer UG Exchange student support and the Languages for All programme.
Additional Responsibilities:
17. Engage in continuous personal and professional development, including relevant training and development activities.
18. Ensure and promote the personal health, safety, and wellbeing of staff and students.

Essential:
Education and Qualifications:
23. A-levels with at least GCSE Grade C in Mathematics and English (or equivalent).
Experience:
24. Knowledge of the Higher Education (HE) environment and associated processes and procedures.
25. Experience delivering excellent customer services to diverse stakeholders.
Aptitude and Skills:
26. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
27. Excellent IT skills.
28. Strong planning, organization, and time management skills.
