We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Planner to join our HMP Glasgow planning team overseeing one of Scotland's largest ever construction projects. This could be your opportunity to get involved in delivering a modern new-build custodial facility, delivering a secure, energy efficient and high specification campus for 2000 inmates and staff.

Contract: Permanent, full time; flexibility can be considered simply outlined in your application.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Senior Planner, you will work strategically with the planning lead and closely with project leadership and delivery teams to assist them in developing realistic target construction programmes for large, high-value work fronts. In the role, you will retain an overall monitoring capacity for complex projects to ensure construction plans are created, updated, and amended in line with project needs, offering subject matter expertise on planning elements to the project leadership.
What could your day-to-day look like?
It may look like, but not be limited to:
1. Managing aspects of planning, phasing, programming, and sequencing for our tendering activity, including the coordination of design, commercial, and production activities into one truly Integrated Programme.
2. Creating look-ahead programmes and individual trade package programmes.
3. Monitoring and updating progress and undertaking regular progress monitoring drop lines.
4. Developing ideas to drive improvement and consistency in the timely delivery of our preconstruction preferred bids and our live projects.
5. Supporting and mentoring project leads to ensure they have the technical software skills to produce their own regular look-ahead programmes.
6. Advising on the effect of any project slippage on existing programmes and updating accordingly.
7. Working closely with project teams to assist in the production of accurate progress reports.
Who are we looking for? (Skills and experience)
Individuals who can demonstrate:
1. Experience in a planning role within a main contractor delivering large construction projects.
2. Comfort using planning software - Asta / Primavera or Microsoft Project.
3. Good construction technical knowledge across relevant work packages.
4. Excellent communication skills, able to work across teams in an advisory capacity and collaborate across departments.
5. A keen eye for detail, with the ability to draw on project experience to identify and mitigate programme risks.
6. Highly organised and able to work to multiple deadlines.
7. Ability to share knowledge and expertise with team members and stakeholders, communicating concepts clearly.
Required (Qualifications and Accreditations)
1. Relevant qualification in construction management or engineering discipline (HND Min).
2. Full UK Driving License.
