About the role

As we continue to evolve and invest in these core sectors, we’re creating a brand-new role for a Farming and Estates Development Consultant. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and grow one of our most valued markets, working with agencies, partners and internal teams to enhance our offering and impact the farming and estates landscape.
This national, field-based role is all about insight, influence and integration. You’ll bring together data analysis, stakeholder engagement and industry knowledge to support our agencies and improve sales performance in Farming and Estates. From working with underwriting and pricing teams to building relationships with land agents and rural partners, you’ll play a key role in ensuring NFU Mutual continues to deliver trusted, competitive and relevant solutions for rural clients.
You’ll be responsible for identifying trends, supporting our agency network, and helping to shape strategic decisions across the business. Whether it's using data to influence propositions, working with CRM systems to maintain a strong pipeline, or contributing to new business development through industry partnerships, you’ll be at the heart of our commitment to the farming and estates community.
This is a field based role which requires multi-site travel nationally.
This role falls under Insurance Distribution Directive requirements, and as a result, role holders will be required to demonstrate ongoing Continuous Professional Development in role, along with undergoing regular re-screening to show that they are of “Good Repute”. About you
We’re looking for a confident and driven individual who can combine analytical thinking with a deep understanding of rural markets. You’ll be someone who thrives on building relationships and influencing others, with a passion for supporting farming and estates clients. Whether it’s working with data, developing sales strategies, or engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, you’ll bring integrity, motivation and a collaborative spirit to everything you do.
You’ll need to be comfortable working independently in a national, field-based role, able to manage a varied workload and travel as needed. With strong communication skills and a natural ability to connect with people, you’ll represent NFU Mutual with professionalism and credibility across the rural community. The role demands the adaptability and resilience to engage confidently with clients at all levels and build trusted, positive relationships that reflect our values and long-term commitment to our clients.
To succeed in this role, you’ll also bring:
* Experience in market and data analysis, with the ability to translate insights into clear sales strategies.
* Proven background in sales business development or strategic sales planning.
* Strong technical understanding of rural and estate markets, with farming insurance experience being a distinct advantage.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to build trusted, long-term B2B relationships.
* A resilient, self-motivated approach, with confidence in influencing, negotiating and adapting to change.
* A genuine passion for rural affairs and the communities we support, combined with effective communication and a team-focused mindset.
A full UK driving licence is essential for this role.
