Job Title: Senior Administrator - Maternity Cover

Salary: £19,800 - £23,000 per annum actual ( £27k - £31k FTE), dependent on experience and working weeks
About the Role
We are seeking an organised and proactive Senior Administrator to join a fast-paced school environment in Brighton, East Sussex. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to provide vital administrative and secretarial support to the school's academic staff. Key responsibilities include coordinating pupil reports, managing school trip logistics, supporting parents' evenings, and providing general administrative support to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Main Responsibilities
* Perform general secretarial duties, handling confidential information and answering enquiries
* Coordinate reports and grading with staff and maintain accurate records
* Take and distribute minutes for staff meetings and manage school trip systems
* Oversee two budgets, handling approvals and allocation
* Organise mail-outs, create labels, and support admissions as needed
* Assist with Parents' Evenings, produce staff lists, and maintain stationery supplies
* Update pupil contact details and provide support to the Exams Office
Person Specification
We are looking for a candidate who is:
* An excellent communicator and team player
* Proactive, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
* Self-disciplined, flexible, and capable of handling confidential information
* Technically skilled, with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and experience with databases (e.g., iSAMS) being desirable
Hours of Work
Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm, with a 60-minute unpaid lunch break (37.5 hours per week). This role is term-time plus three additional weeks (38 weeks total).
Contract Duration: Fixed term maternity cover from January 2025 to January 2026, with an eight-week notice period if the contract ends early.
