Job Purpose Summary
To ensure that all worldwide inbound and outbound deliveries are planned, scheduled and confirmed in line with company requirements and HMRC regulations.
To act as the interface between vendors, customers, the Warehouse operations in multiple countries and the Commercial teams.
Role Responsibilities
* Manage the inbound delivery booking schedule, liaising with warehouse to ensure booking calendar is not overbooked.
* Creation of Identification Delivery Numbers to aid in receipt of inbound deliveries.
* Report to the wider business on any overdue shipments.
* Understanding the current import and export shipping market, the services each Freight Forwarder has to offer and how it will benefit the business.
* Strong knowledge of Incoterms.
* Strong understanding of customs procedures and responsibilities.
* Obtaining freight quotes and negotiating with freight forwarders.
* Booking worldwide transportation services, both inbound and outbound, with a sound understanding of current freight costs and services. This will include interaction with freight management systems (portals).
* Some knowledge of HMRC regulations and how they are applicable to importing and exporting.
* Optimise inbound and outbound freight routes via consolidation and use of appropriate partners.
* Provide the necessary administrative support to warehouse operations. This includes the production of inbound and outbound documentation, including the release of pick notes and the processing of end-of-day activities.
Additional Responsibilities
* The planning and coordinating of smaller customer deliveries, ensuring customer SLA’s are followed.
* Proficient in preparing comprehensive shipping documentation, including dangerous goods notes and compliance paperwork to ensure seamless international freight movements.
* Timely day-to-day maintenance of email accounts and shared calendar(s).
* Resolving account queries relating to overshipments / damages or short shipments.
* Problem solving simple logistics problems.
* Liaising with internal stakeholders such as sales teams and vendor managers to enable effective transportation services.

* Drive a culture of safety and welfare, and upgrade existing processes to ensure the health and safety of employees.
* Ensure safety is paramount at all times to all colleagues and visitors entering the warehouse.

Skills & Personal Attributes
* Strong administration skills with the ability to optimise own performance and development.
* Good planning skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks through to completion and to manage competing priorities.
* Skilled in leveraging supply chain efficiencies through effective planning.
* Previous experience of Inbound and Outbound Logistics to include interaction with 3PL freight carrier service providers.
* Sound knowledge of import and export legislative requirements.
* Previous experience of warehouse operations (goods receiving, pick, pack & dispatch).
* Strong IT systems knowledge including Microsoft Office, WMS & SAP systems.
* Excellent of working within defined Standard Operating Procedures.
* Good analytical skills with the ability to analyse and manipulate data and provide meaningful information.
* Good verbal and written communication skills (fluency in English is required) with the ability to form, develop and maintain positive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
* Strong commercial and financial acumen and awareness and a full understanding of the impact of failure in terms of business cost and customer order fulfilment.
