Overview
My client has an exciting and important role in achieving net zero and in leading a fair energy transition for the UK. They do this by developing the green gas system of tomorrow, while delivering the natural gas needs of today.
The Operations team maintain, repair and upgrade 7,666km of high-pressure pipe, 23 compressor stations, 504 above-ground installations, and 8 connected distribution networks through a highly skilled team of over 600 technicians and engineers across Great Britain. Working around the clock to maintain and enhance the infrastructure that powers homes, business and industries, guaranteeing a steady and secure energy supply.

As a Senior Electrical and Instrumentation Project Technician, you know what is in place can often be improved to make things more effective, efficient and safe.
You will drive a team culture of safe working and safety compliance in all activities. You will be a role model and demonstrate visible safety leadership to all stakeholders including the identification of best practices and safety initiatives.
You will provide technical support and site guidance to project contractors, provide quality assurance (including snagging) of new installations, inspect as built drawings and red line mark ups for accuracy, create and approve RAMs and ensure permit compliance.
What we are looking for
To be successful in this role, you will have experience of carrying out isolations, be comfortable in supervising contractors as an Authorised Person with knowledge of instrument loops and working with P&IDs.
You will be educated to an Electrical or Instrumentation SVQ level 3 (or above) standard and it would be particularly advantageous to have knowledge of SIMATIC PCS7 control system with the control system replacement project we have.
