We are looking to recruit Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurses for the Neonatal Unit at Jessop Wing, Sheffield.
The post holders will provide initial 'golden hour' care to babies and families promoting delayed cord clamping, delivery room cuddles, and EBM at birth to give babies the best start. You will then ensure that families are fully involved in their babies' ongoing care which may include high-level respiratory support and surgery. You will be using the Badger EPR system as we continue our paperless journey.
We will support you to gain valuable nursing experience at birth for the most premature babies and complete Neonatal Life Support if needed and up-to-date level 3 practices. You may be seconded from your current Band 6 role for 6-12 months with your manager's agreement and will have completed the Qualified in Specialty programme and consolidated this training. Alternatively, you will be looking to continue your neonatal career with progression to be a Band 6 Neonatal nurse, being a room leader and providing senior support either in ITU, HDU, or as a Special Care Co-ordinator overseeing discharges into the community.
We welcome staff working 30-37.5 hours per week. 12-hour shifts, days, nights, and weekends to cover our service as we support staff on their Early Career Neonatal Nurse Pathway.
