Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen to employ a Nursing Associate to our team for a 12 month fixed term contract or secondment. This role will focus on the delivery of population based mental health care for the community of Wyre Forest. You will be working alongside multi-disciplinary teams of highly specialist practitioners and have direct relationships with the professionals within the local Primary Care Networks (PCN). The main focus of this role will be to take an active part in our Depot and Clozapine clinics, administering depot medication and carrying out venepuncture as part of Clozapine bloods monitoring. The postholder will also support the co facilitation of our psychoeducational courses. The post is for 37.5 hours a week (Monday to Friday), although we would consider applications for 30 hours a week over 4 days. Main duties of the job The main duties for a Nursing Associate within our team includes (but not limited to): Administering medication as prescribed, including depots and clozapine. Obtain requested routine bloods/investigations; have an understanding of normal and altered values, reporting adverse results. The predominant focus for bloods is Clozapine clinic. Provide and promote health education; support and encourage the patient to meet their own health and wellbeing needs. Implement and contribute care plans and risk assessments within the limits of own knowledge and competence. Assist and/or deliver groups to promote patient lifestyle and independence. Complete documentation accurately and contribute to reports of patients activity and progress Participate in discussions about patient care including MDTs and supervision. Maintain and develop skills through training and supervision. Liaise effectively and work collaboratively with colleagues both in the team and outside of the team.
