Who will you be working with?
We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join our team at the LH Group (a Division of Wabtec UK Ltd) based in Burton on Trent. We support our customers through maintenance and operation optimisation with customised solutions for spare parts, repair, and overhaul activities on existing trains.

Location: Burton on Trent, Staffordshire, (DE13 8EN)
Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:30pm and Friday 08:00am to 13:00pm, 37 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
How will you make a difference?
As a Quality Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and compliance of engineering components. You will be responsible for the investigation of customer returns and warranty claims through examination of parts and products to determine if warranty claims are valid.
What you will be doing…
* Investigate and report Customer Complaints.
* Carry out random outgoing product inspection and report to Quality.
* Liaise with Customers/Suppliers regarding rejects or quality issues.
* Provide support to assess existing and approve new suppliers by conducting desktop and on-site audits if required.
* Lead 8Ds, Pre FAI and Customer FAI’s.
* Maintain and improve 5S standards in the Quality Quarantine area.
* Write and communicate reports relating to quality improvement.
* Participate in setting, reviewing, and upgrading the quality standards, policies, and procedures.
* Maintain records of all audits performed.
* Coach, motivate, and challenge employees in the importance of quality and drive continuous improvement activities.
Are you an individual with the following?
* HND or an Equivalent Degree
* Internal Auditor qualification
* Good Knowledge of core quality tools such as 8D, FMEA, PPAP, with demonstrated application in a manufacturing environment.
* Ability to use calibrated equipment and inspect components.
* Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
* Organised with the ability to manage multiple issues.
* IT literate and proficient in Microsoft Office.
