University Hospitals Sussex (UHSx) is seeking a passionate & experienced nursing professional to join our team as Head of Nursing for Mental Health, Dementia & Autism. An 8b role offering 37.5 hours per week, based trust-wide.
As a pivotal member of the Safeguarding Senior Management Team, you will provide senior nursing leadership & management to deliver safe, high-quality safeguarding services. This role involves:
* Leading the safeguarding strategy & ensuring compliance with statutory regulations
* Acting as the clinical governance lead for Dementia, Mental Health & Autism safeguarding
* Supporting education, training, & workforce development to build capacity & capability
* Collaborating with internal & external stakeholders to drive service improvement
Main duties of the job
The Head of Nursing will be an integral member of the Safeguarding Senior Management Team supporting the Corporate Nursing Division in the delivery of key performance targets and the Safeguarding strategy. The post holder will provide proactive senior nursing leadership and management for Safeguarding for patients with Dementia, Learning Disabilities, Mental Health, and Autism.
You will also play a key role in providing assurance to the Trust Board and partners, chairing the Dementia, Mental Health, and Autism Operational Group, and contributing to strategic initiatives across the Integrated Care System (ICS).
Person specification
* Registered Nurse/ Mental Health Nurse / Learning Disability Nurse
* Educated to master’s level/equivalent level qualification in relevant subject, or considerable experience of working at a similar level in specialist area.
* Teaching qualification or equivalent experience.
* Extensive experience of safeguarding experience with knowledge of specialist areas. Level 4 competence for Safeguarding
* Senior level experience of working within dementia, learning disabilities, mental health, and autism
