Eastern Green Link 2 & 3 are multi-billion pound projects, both of which are being delivered via Joint Venture between National Grid and SSEN. Both projects are focusing on the development of Eastern HVDC Subsea Links which will connect Scotland and England to support the transfer of renewable electricity to key UK centres of demand.
The Project Services Function has a significant role to play in supporting delivery of these projects, including the Reporting team through the development and management of internal and external reporting.
The Reporting Manager will lead a team to support successful delivery of the programme through ensuring accurate and timely information is available to key stakeholders enabling them to make informed decisions. They will help develop and implement Industry best practice policy, processes, procedures, standards, and practices across the projects.
They will regularly engage with several key stakeholders such as the Head of Project Controls, other Project Service’s functional leads, Delivery Teams, Digital and IT, Project Leadership Team, and representatives from our parent companies to ensure an aligned approach to reporting of the project’s performance and the approved data sources are being used.
We are looking for a project management professional with a good level of experience in large construction programmes, knowledge of modern but pragmatic reporting practices. In addition, the interpersonal and management skills to help develop the reporting team so that Project Services can support successful delivery of the project.
This role is based at our Glasgow and we continue to offer hybrid working from office and home.

* Experience in leading reporting teams and implementing reporting processes, systems on high-value complex projects.
* Significant knowledge of the reporting capabilities such as data management and best practice but also of broader Project Controls including, cost control, risk, planning and change control.
* Experience of managing a wide group of stakeholders & effective communication skills with all levels of management.
* Experience in the use of Power BI and good understanding of IT system’s architecture.
* Experience of the utility sector is desirable.
* Demonstrable experience of successfully working in a matrix and integrated team on major infrastructure projects and leading planning teams.
* Demonstrable examples of exercising sound judgement and facilitating decision making on complex issues among multiple suppliers.
* Ability to bring creative and innovative new approaches to projects that deliver lasting improvements.
What you'll do
* Support the development and implementation of effective Reporting policy, strategy, process, procedures, practices, and behaviours to be used consistently across the projects. All with the aim of providing visibility of the project’s performance through clear and concise reporting.
* Develop the Project Reporting management plan, capturing the cadence of reviews, Terms of Reference and the roles and responsibilities of the reporting team.
* Defining the KPIs across the project’s lifecycle.
* Ensuring the Data and Information flows for the projects are mapped and understood by all key stakeholders.
* Implementing and continuously improving performance reporting processes and outputs.
* Develop and maintain interactive dashboards that provide clear measures that cover the width and depth of the projects.
* Ensure reviews are held and conducted to the appropriate standard e.g., minutes, actions, and decisions are captured and managed accordingly.
* Ensure any document produced or managed by the reporting are stored correctly in line with the document management plan.
* Manage Project Co-ordinators, who part of their responsibilities is for issuing review packs and taking minutes of meetings.
* Ensure that the Project Delivery and Leadership teams are provided with project insights & opportunities with recommendations.
* Working collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure reporting information is appropriate, readily available, and easily understood to support effective decision making.
What you'll get
A competitive salary between £68,000 - £78,000 – dependent on capability.
As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus of up to 15% of your salary for stretch performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
