Are you looking to work in a service dedicated to improving the lives of children with disabilities and their families?
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and skilled communicator to join our multi-agency team in Hackney to work as a Key Worker for children with high care and complex needs.
The post holder will need to have a recognised Professional qualification to degree level or equivalent (in a relevant Health, Social Care or Educational Field) and a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience, at least half of which should be with children.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking someone who can assist families to;
* link services together,
* provide a single point of contact in relation to a child with high care needs for family and professionals alike.
* Ease access for families through the range of services available nationally and locally.
* Support families at a time when they are coming to terms with their child’s difficulties.
The post holder will also assist in the training of other professionals to take on key working roles.

Education / Qualifications
* Recognised relevant Professional qualification to degree level or equivalent in a relevant Health, Social Care or Educational Field.
* Evidence of successful completion of post graduate specialist short courses equivalent to Diploma relevant to the specialism.
* Membership of relevant professional associations/ special interest groups.
* Certificate in European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) or willing to attain qualification.

* Ability to work with families who may be in crisis and resistant to professional input.
* Excellent interpersonal skills – including observation, listening and empathy skills.
* Negotiation and Problem solving Skills.
* Excellent presentation skills, both written and verbal.

Experience
* Substantive post-graduate experience including experience of working with children.
* Experience of working in a community health, social care or educational setting.
* Evidence of in-depth experience in specialist area including active networking with other specialists regionally and nationally.

* In-depth knowledge of national policies and procedures relevant to children’s services.
