As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference by supporting a pupil in KS1 with autism. Your role will be key to helping this student thrive, academically, socially, and emotionally. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one and small group support: Assist the pupil in the classroom, adapting tasks and activities to their individual needs. Encourage engagement and participation: Motivate to actively participate in lessons, ensuring they feel included and supported. Assist with personal care and mobility: Provide support with physical or emotional needs, including personal care where necessary. Support behavioural and emotional development: Create a positive and supportive environment for their growth. Collaborate with the teacher: Work closely with the class teacher to implement tailored plans and strategies that address individual learning needs. Monitor progress: Keep track of progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents, contributing to student assessments. The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant will have: * Previous experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly in a KS1 setting A strong understanding of how to support children with learning difficulties and emotional/behavioral needs, and a creative, flexible approach to delivering tailored support. Patient, empathetic, and calm with a natural ability to build strong, trusting relationships with children Excellent communication skills and a genuine commitment to helping others Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to build rapport with students Enthusiasm to be part of a team that supports inclusive education Why choose Milk?
