Job Summary
This is a role which is critical to our future success and in saving and improving lives.
You will be required to attend, organise and manage our Donor Recognition Ceremonies within the region and regularly liaise with our donors with regards to their milestones donation achievements.
You will also be involved in both office based and field based activities where you can use your communication skills to recruit members of the public to become blood donors.
There will be opportunities for you to find out about blood collection, the processes we undertake to ensure the blood is safe and the life saving products we make from our donations.
Main duties of the job
In this role you will be required to :-
1. Attend, Organise and manage donor recognition ceremonies within the region.
2. Ensure blood and platelet donors at specific milestone donations are recognised at a Donor Recognition ceremony, in line with their preference.
3. Order stock from, and liaise with, the Strategic Marketing function to ensure adequate milestone awards are available for regional needs.
4. Manage and respond to donor complaints, compliments and suggestions.
5. Ensure maximum publicity is gained from Recognition presentations, including the collation of media coverage and donor satisfaction, cascading reports on media gained per event to the Regional Community Engagement Manager and other nominated departments.
You will be required to travel and spend time away from base, which will involve working irregular hours and overnight stays when required, with prior notice. This role will be based in Barnsley with regular travel to Manchester and Ceremony locations.
About You
Experience and Knowledge
6. Experience of working in a busy office environment, using office equipment, handling conflicting deadlines and priorities.
7. Knowledge of marketing.
Qualifications and Training
8. Minimum of GCSE grade C or above including English and Maths or equivalent qualification eg NVQ Level 2, BTEC level 2.
9. Demonstrates commitment to own continuous learning and development.
10. Possess a valid driving licence, allowing you to drive in the UK.
