We are currently looking for a Project Configuration Manager to join the team after the post holder followed our internal mobility route into another area of the business. We’re looking for someone with excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for solving complex issues. You will be recognized for your pragmatism, commitment, and rigor and looking for challenge through unforeseen events and business emergencies.
This role will be located in our Quadrant House office in St Katherine’s Dock, London. You’ll be able to follow our SMART Working policy, seeing you in an office at least twice per week.
Key Responsibilities
As a Project Configuration Manager your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
* Collaboration with key stakeholders, in particular the Project Managers (PM), the Product or System SEMs, the Work Package Managers (WPM)
* Coordinate all the Configuration Management activities within your projects
Consider the following elements for the set of projects you have to take in charge:
* The adaptation of the Configuration Management system, in compliance with the contractual requirements
* The execution of the Configuration Management system within the project, in compliance with the requirements of the internal repository of your entity
* Consistency and completeness of the project information in the configuration management system of your entity
* Participate in the selection of configuration items
* Organize, lead and control the Configuration Control Committees (both internal and external) as well as the pre and post CCB activities
* Establish the configuration repositories (FBL, ABL, PBL)
* Ensure the recording and the restitution of the configuration states
* Participate in end of phase reviews (SFR, PDR, CDR...)
* Perform or participate in FCA and PCA configuration audits
* Coordinate the actions of the Configuration Administrators
* Participate in the analysis of contractual requirements and the preparation of Configuration Management quotations during the bid phase
Accomplish more specifically the following tasks:
* Organize the CM activities and interface with the Project Managers on the planning and management aspects
* Propose adjustments to the Configuration Management process for the project
* Ensure the project is compliant with the repository and customer requirements before integrating them into a Configuration Management Plan
Deploy the Configuration Management plan and ensure the follow-up, interacting with subcontractors and suppliers so that:
* The Configuration Management requirements are properly implemented and respected
Technical Skills
* Master the standard Hitachi Rail configuration management processes and tools, particularly those linked with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
* You are able to adapt and assess the Configuration Management System, as well as the contractual and commercial requirements, within your scope
* Adopt a Lean Management approach and apply Agile principles to the management and development of the team
* You are able to drive forward in changing environments

Experience
* Proven experience in the field of configuration management
* Prior experience of working in an integrated team within large scopes, combining specific developments and off-the-shelf solutions
Qualifications
* Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering or CM2-C (Comprehensive) or CM2-P (Professional)
What to expect
This role will close to applications on Sunday 2nd February. We then aim to complete a two-stage, interview process with at least one of these in person in the week commencing 3rd February. The interviews will focus separately on technical and behavioural competencies.
