The Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) sets out an approach to developing and maintaining effective systems and processes for responding to patient safety incidents for the purpose of learning and improving patient safety. The Clinical Leadership and Patient Safety Team assure safe and effective clinical services through a full range of clinical governance activities, with a core function of producing documents that guide practice, quality assurance of clinical practice and learning from incidents. The Patient Safety Coordinator will work as part of the Patient Safety Team to ensure effective processing of patient safety incidents and coordinate organisational learning. Main duties of the job The Patient Safety Coordinator will be part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team responsible for ensuring safe and effective clinical services through the full range of clinical governance activities and promoting a positive culture of learning. The Patient Safety Coordinator will represent the Patient Safety Team and act as the day to day interface with the ECS Operational Leadership Teams. The Patient Safety Coordinator will provide coordination of all adverse incident reports, compliments and complaints from receipt to closure. The Patient Safety Coordinator will provide coordination of clinical audit activity and management of patient care records. The Patient Safety Coordinator will support the management of documents that guide practice. The Patient Safety Coordinator will act as a point of contact for external stakeholders and agencies in relation to patient safety, coronial and legal enquiries.
