Job summary Permanent, 15 hours / week We are looking for a Partner Peer Support Worker to join our Perinatal inpatient ward - The Beeches Mother and Baby Unit. The Beeches is a 6 bedded unit, we admit women and birthing people from 32 weeks pregnancy and admit with babies up until the age of one. We work with a range of perinatal mental illness's and support them through their recovery journey. We also work closely with our patients partners and family members to ensure they are supported whilst their loved one is on the ward. The successful applicant will work as a member of our multi-disciplinary mental health team, which is made up of nurses, nursery nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists, a social worker and occupational therapists. Main duties of the job Under the supervision of a qualified practitioner, you will help support our partners pathway for our perinatal services. This will include the running of a partners support group where you will be able to share your own experience, you will inspire hope and belief that recovery is possible, and be able to discuss the difficulties partners face when they have a loved one under perinatal services or admitted to the mother and baby unit. This role has been developed specifically for individuals who have lived experience of having a partner who has experience of accessing Perinatal Mental Health Services. You will be able to promote peer support amongst partners open to the perinatal service, and contribute to the development of their involvement and participation, in service development. The role is for 15 hours a week and we are happy to be flexible with what days and hours this is for the successful applicant.
