Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Mechanic to join our small but growing and established family run business. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and skills, and have hands-on experience with both hand and power tools.
As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles and machinery, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely.
A qualified MOT tester would be preferred but is not essential.
We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and who can work well without supervision.
Responsibilities
1. Diagnosing vehicle faults and issues
2. Using diagnostic tools where necessary
3. Using hand tools and power tools effectively to carry out repairs and replacements.
4. Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including parts used and time spent on each job.
5. Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of repairs.
6. Performing test drives on vehicles
7. Installing and fitting vehicle accessories
8. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working in the workshop or on-site.
9. Stay updated on the latest industry trends and technologies to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
1. Proven experience as a Mechanic
2. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot various mechanical issues.
3. Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
4. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
5. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
6. A valid, clean driving licence
